What’s there in the new release of fanffair.com?

A new version of fanffair.com is released with few new features and I would like to introduce them to you. It’s not a big release but few useful features, changes have been introduced that fanffair.com was lacking. And I wish these changes will make the publishing to Facebook a seamless experience for you.
Well, coming to the new features in this release, we introduced few tooltips, pretty easy to do but they were not in place for long time. Now we have them with ‘Like’, ‘Share’ and ‘Recommend’ icons.
Next was to replace the little heart shaped icon to capture what user ‘wants’ with a right (nike right) icon to capture what user ‘recommended’. I believe that aligns these icons and the actions to the actual thought process of every user.
Next was to introduce the ‘Share’ icon along with a cute little text box where a user can leave a comment while sharing on Facebook with her friends.

If those were the changes in the website, we do have some additions in terms content as well. We introduced a new channel on Business and Finance - http://www.fanffair.com/channel/business-and-finance .
Hope you find all these changes exciting.

"My Favorite" channel on Fanffair and why I love this

Before I start answering this, I want to share my views on how, over a period of time, the nature of news feed has changed in Facebook. I love Facebook. Generally speaking, I love to get all the updates I get from my friends  and extended family members. But as I became more and more entrenched user of facebook, I figured out that facebook has far more to offer than what meets the eyes. I started coming across new and newer fan pages, few through self-exploration, few  through friends. And obviously, I started hitting Like buttons on those pages. Frankly, I love the updates from all those pages.
However, somewhere I failed to notice that non-personal updates have taken over the personal updates. I looked into my profile today and noticed I have liked 176 pages over a period of time. Today I receive only 1 personal update out of every 10 news feed updates. And I don’t see I will stop liking newer pages as I enjoy the posts from those pages as well.
Somewhere I lost the old Facebook. Updates from Fan pages have crowded out the updates from friends and family and I don’t see a going back on this.
Here comes fanffair.com with it’s latest feature “My Favorites” - http://fanffair.com/channel/my-favorite. I have already started using it and I am loving it. I have added around 25 odd Pages under “My Favorite” and I track them on Fanffair.
How about you? Do give it a try and let me know your comments. Remember you need to login in order to use this feature and then you have to add your pages to “My Favorite” by clicking the plus (“+”) button on the information box of the respective page as highlighted below.

What is Fanffair.com?

Fanffair is the shortened form of “Fan Affair” and pronounced like fanfare (i.e. showy, gaudy). So, Fanffair necessarily represents everything that matters to Fans in a showy, gaudy way. Fanffair makes the Facebook Fan pages easier to discover and displays them in a different, refreshing UI layout that makes browsing the content lot more enjoyable experience for you.
In Fanffair.com, we see it as an amalgamation of Facebook (for data from Brands and Fans), Pinterest (for UI look), Digg (as trending of posts), Delicious (as individuals’ bookmarking their favorite posts). That’s lot of value, isn’t it? I was amazed when it took the final shape. I am enjoying it myself, hope you too enjoy and help spread the word.
